Product Description

Prestige 5 Equine Vaccine is a 5-way killed-virus vaccine for healthy horses 6 months of age and older. Prestige 5 helps protect against Eastern and Western encephalomyelitis, equine influenza, equine herpesvirus types 1 and 4, and tetanus. The combination format supports respiratory and neurologic vaccination programs while reducing the need for multiple separate injections.

Ingredients

Active Ingredients: Inactivated Eastern and Western equine encephalomyelitis viruses; inactivated equine herpesvirus type 1 (EHV-1) and type 4 (EHV-4); inactivated equine influenza virus (H3N8) strains (A/eq/Florida/RW/13, A/Equine 2/Kentucky/02, A/eq/Richmond/1/07); tetanus toxoid.
Antibiotic: Gentamicin.
Preservative: Thimerosal.

How to Use

Dosage & Administration Instructions

Primary Dose: Administer 1 mL intramuscularly, aseptically.

Second Dose: Repeat one 1 mL IM dose in 3-4 weeks.

Revaccination Note: Historically recommended annually; booster need not be established.

Foal Consideration: Maternal antibodies may interfere; additional boosters are often required.

Veterinary Guidance: Consult a veterinarian for risk-based revaccination frequency.

Precautions

Cold Storage: Store at 2°-8°C (35°-46°F) and shake well.

Handling Rules: Use entire contents when opened; do not mix products.

Pregnancy Note: Product has not been tested in pregnant animals.

Slaughter Timing: Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.

Reaction Care: Reactions may occur; treat allergic reactions with epinephrine.
